Fair Weather Times

March was a busy month for big school projects.
The first was a career fair for sixth graders. Hannah took a job compatibility test which gave her a list of job possibilities. She has a very creative and artistic aptitude. The career that she chose to research and display was Cartoon animator. The displays were voted on by the 7th graders and then cash prizes were given to the top 3 in each class. Hannah won one of them!
The other 2 winners in her class were a photographer and BMX racer.
Sorry, the only photo of that is on Ryan's cell phone.
The next week was science fair for both Hannah and Adrianna.
Adrianna's was first. She dyed eggs with natural dyes made from fruits, vegetables, spices and drinks. My favorites were the bright yellow saffron, the black made from blueberries, the pink from onion skin, and the green from carrots. The grape juice egg had crystals on it. She didn't win any awards but did a great job and her teacher loved her project.
Hannah's grew sunflowers in different ratios of soil to fertilizer.
She won third place in her category!!! She was very happy for that but disappointed that she didn't win one of the ipod door prizes.
2 Of the 5 kids going to NSCEF are from Cedar! That hasn't happened in a long time.
Both girls had a fun time participating and are looking forward to doing it again next year.

How did your kids grow up so fast! I remember my science project... rat in a maze, it was a excuse to get my mom to buy me a mouse! haha, then the dumb thing had babies the night of science fair seriously pulled of the towel and instead of 1 mouse there were 9... YIKES! So we didn't do so well on the project since she couldn't run the maze...
